"Matching Residents with Affordable Homeownership Products"

One of many community revitalization projects, the Point Breeze project sought to boost homeownership and commercial activity in the area between Broad and 26th streets and Washington Ave. and Moore Street in South Philadelphia.

This project was the result of collaboration between the 18th St. Development Corporation directed by Kelly Woodland and the Wharton GIS Laboratory and was funded by the University-Community Collaborative of Philadelphia (UCCP) and the William Penn Foundation under a Temple contract led by Barbara Ferman. The Wharton GIS Lab, as a subcontractor, has compiled data on affordable lending products available to borrowers in the Point Breeze area, surveyed borrowers to determine their level of knowledgibility about these products and their personal views on borrowing opportunities, and provided a GIS analysis of current home ownership and house conditions in the Point Breeze area.
